I started this blog at about a year ago to answer the following question: “Why does such a beautiful and intelligent woman remain single?” (Made by many people who really meant it and by some other who were only being ironical.)
I’ve already said that for me the best answer has always been and it will always be – ironically or not: Exactly!
Anyway, I decided to go deeper to give an answer to those who really meant it.
I was sure that only my family and a few friends would read my stories. Some of them couldn’t understand the Portuguese version and asked me to translate the stories into English. For my surprise, my posts in English became more popular than the ones in Portuguese and most readers are people I don’t know from many different countries.
I would like to say thank you to those readers and tell them I’ll keep translating the stories that have already been published in Portuguese.
I hope you enjoy them and stop by more often.
I would like to thank Stefano Paterna for his photos displayed in most pages.

PS.: Single women over their thirties are called “Balzaquianas” in Portuguese. This term comes from the book “La Femme de trente ans” written by the French writer Honoré de Balzac and it has been used ironically for years to refer to women who were “not capable” of getting married while they could.
