Whoever follows my blog knows that I’m not the kind of person who is always complaining about things 🙂 . (https://balzaquianos.wordpress.com/about-2/) They also know that after living for 12 years in Natal and 6 months in Pipa (https://balzaquianos.wordpress.com/get-a-life/get-a-life/) I moved to Marília and I fell in love with the city. Everybody is aware that, even when I’m in love, I never close my eyes to the negative facts. I live downtown and the amount of alarms that go off in the middle of the night is unbelievable. I know that it isn’t a local problem and it is due to the increasing number of thefts and robberies. But most of them are not connected with a security company and, sometimes, they go off repeatedly during the weekend. There are also cars that keep beeping the whole night. I have heard that in some countries the owners are fined. In the USA there are neighborhood watches that call the police and, in more extreme cases, throw eggs – or something worse – on the cars or properties. There is a memorable scene from a movie (When a man loves a woman) where Meg Ryan’s character throws eggs on a car with the alarm going off in front of her house. I wish I had eggs or courage enough to do the same. These owners forget that their rights end where ours begin. My only comfort is to think that the thieves are going to realize that those dogs are barking, but not biting.
